The most memorable would definitely be when my dad played on the same team as me. I came out in 2013 and in 2014 my dad came out. Being able to play on the same team at the Austin World Series is something I’ll never forget!

Gay softball has given me a great deal of exposure to other communities. I've met people from different walks of life. It's incredible to watch all these folks come together. Gay softball is my community. I call them my family. These are the few people that I trust. Everyone respects and is at ease with one another. We compete with pride and for the love of the game.

Dana joined gay softball while living in Boston. He was just coming out and while he loved sports, softball gave him an opportunity to meet new people and create friendships. Mark met Dana a few years later in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and watched him play. After just a couple weekends, Mark wanted to join the league as well.
