2023 NAGAAA CUP RECAP
By Mark Sakalares
NAGAAA Athletic Director

Over the Memorial Day weekend 29 teams descended on Salt Lake City, UT for the annual NAGAAA Cup Invitational tournament. 18 A & B teams were joined for the first time by teams from our Masters C & Masters D divisions. 5 teams from the Masters C division and 6 teams from the Masters D division. What they found when they arrived was a picturesque setting with fields that were some of the best fields that many of the participants had ever played on. Not to mention that the beauty of the mountains in the backdrop of every field was amazing. Over two days nearly 500 players played just under 100 games. Yes, it did rain briefly, but no one really cared.

In the end we crowned Champions in all 4 divisions of play. ATX Reign took the title in the A division, South Florida United snagged the top spot in the B division. In the Masters C division Palm Springs Past Our Prime fought to the end to walk away the Champions and in the Masters D Division the LA Thunderbirds battled until the last out to take home the top spot.

We had been saying that this was an experiment to include the Masters divisions in the NAGAAA Cup. Well, in our opinion this experiment was a huge success.

The 2024 NAGAAA Cup is planned for this upcoming April in Houston and promises to be another top-notch event. We have every intention of once again including our Masters division teams as they brought so much energy and joy to an already stellar event.
